Jefferson Council adopts salary ordinance, passes contracting package

NJ JEFFERSON — Jefferson Township Council adopts salary ordinance, awards seven resolutions in single meeting. Council President Josh Kalish led unanimous adoption of Ordinance #26-02 establishing pay ranges for construction and health/welfare positions and $35 payments for board minutes. The Council approved a $55,000 labor attorney contract with Cleary, Giacobbe, Alfieri, Jacobs, LLC; a 24-month Amazon online marketplace contract for $44,000; and a two-year bus transportation contract for $35,000.
On contested votes, Council advanced an Environmental Protection compliance order for PFAS in the Milton water system, with Councilman Schultz dissenting, and a $384,600 grant application for Chamberlain House roof restoration, with Councilwoman Senatore dissenting. Administrator Debi Millikin announced a March 4 budget meeting and removal of White Rock and ropes course improvements from the capital budget.
