Jefferson approves road vacation and budget cap increase

NJ JEFFERSON — Jefferson Council approves three ordinances including road vacation and budget increase. Council President Josh Kalish presided as the township approved Ordinance #26-03 vacating portions of Edgewood Road and an unnamed road for Lake Hopatcong Ventures, LLC property consolidation, with the developer responsible for constructing and maintaining a private driveway; adopted Ordinance #26-06 revising cannabis retail regulations to establish 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. operating hours and prohibit consumption areas; and approved Ordinance #26-08 increasing the 2026 municipal budget appropriation limit to 3.5 percent, adding $870,241.21 under state Local Government Cap Law.
