Council authorizes second liquor license bid, pledges Camp Jefferson funds

NJ JEFFERSON — Jefferson Township Council opens bidding for a second retail distribution liquor license, minimum $425,000. Resolution #26-105 authorized the bidding process; successful bidders must place a 50 percent good faith deposit within five days and undergo police background investigation. Council also adopted Resolution #26-106 pledging to dedicate $290,000 from the liquor license sale and cannabis revenue to replenish the Camp Jefferson facilities improvement fund, which Council had withdrawn $290,000 from to fund a one-point 2026 tax reduction.
Council authorized a grant application for Camp Jefferson historic preservation to the Morris County Historic Preservation Trust Fund, requesting $101,800 with $25,450 local match for a total project cost of $127,250.
