Board approves garage-to-dwelling conversion for family autism care

NJ JEFFERSON — Jefferson Township Land Use Board approves garage-to-dwelling conversion for family autism care. Ms. Josephine Tedesco of 11 Jennings Road received a 6-1 use variance to convert a detached garage into a second dwelling unit to house her daughter and autistic grandson, age 3, with direct parental supervision available.
The board imposed conditions including a deed restriction for family-only use, an advanced waste-treatment system for both units, and prohibition on subdivision. Three bulk area variances were also approved: Jacqueline Lerma at 43 Mason Street (8-1), the Russo property at 85 Yacht Club Drive (9-0 unanimous), and Pangione at 7 Whispering Pine Way (8-0).
